Shiloh Shiloh April 6-7, 1862 It began on a Sunday morning, and was named afterwards a country church near the battlefield. The aggregate soldiers werent prepred for the intemperate charge of Confederate soldiers. The Confederates attacked at 3 am, totally fetching the joint troops by surprise. Bad roads and postponement contributed to the delay of Union reinforcements, but when they got there, it took them 2 days of intimacy to drive the Confederate troops back. No ground was gained, no strategic town was taken, all that was gained from this Union victory was the elimination of Confederate troops from much of Tennessee.
